I trust you are well! I am writing to you on an unusually rainy weekend here in the Midwest, where our rising Ohio River levels are flooding streets and neighborhoods, causing many of us to re-route and reorganize our plans to accommodate Nature. It seems this is a theme for many communities around the world at this time, offering us the chance to practice patience and flexibility. Quite the challenge at times! Last week I opened the doors to my first virtual classroom, called Awakening The Guides, and I have had several people asking me to define "The Guides." During this time of rerouting maps and exploring new directions, the term "Guides" feels appropriate. Guides: "People who advise or show the way to others, for example, a professional mountain climber in charge of a group..."  In the winding routes many of us take in our life's journey, we are often gifted with Guides who show up as teachers, doctors, neighbors, favorite relatives, or friends. The wisdom they offer can impact the choices and decisions that we make, which then takes our journey in different ways than originally expected. The wisdom of our Guides may come from their own life's experiences, their intuition, or their spiritual connections to God / Source. The deeper our trust In that individual, the more impactful their guidance is on our lives. In my own journey, I have had many guides, teachers, healers who have held a higher vision for me than I had been able to in the moment. Their belief in me and encouragement and support often changed the trajectory of my life in profound ways, nudging me to step into more of who I came here to be. Since I started my own business, I have also developed a connection to, and an ever-deepening trust in, my Spiritual Guides. I have found that the perspective and clarity from my Guides who are unseen (not here in the physical form) is stretching me in even bigger ways than the amazing physical, human Guides in my life. What do I mean by Spiritual Guides? Dr. Michael Newton, a hypnotherapist who wrote the groundbreaking book, Journey of Souls, describes our unseen spiritual teachers in this way: "Guides are figures of grace in our existence because they are part of the fulfillment of our destiny. ... I have never worked with a subject in trance who did not have a personal guide. ... Often, a client will sense the presence of a (guide) before visualizing a face or hearing a voice. People who meditate a great deal are naturally more familiar with these visions than someone who has never called upon his or her guide."  My team of Spiritual Guides has evolved as I have learned to distinguish the difference in the vibration and support each one provides. When I meditate, I can sense where their energy field is around mine. At the end of many of my meditations, I grab my journal and pen and write freely, without trying to control the words that come through... and I have found that they Scribe messages to me, through my awareness, my Consciousness to help me understand my next steps. Or to better appreciate what I am accomplishing in each moment. The Love... the Truth... the steadiness of their Presence... humbles me and often brings me to tears. It is a Purity of Consciousness that moves beyond words. Bridging the Spiritual and Physical... So what does this have to do with my new offering, Awakening The Guides? Two weeks ago, I shared my Reflections on the Awakening I feel happening on our planet. Many spiritual leaders have described this Shift in Consciousness in various ways... and yet the energy underneath it is all the same. Humanity is understanding... sensing... trusting... that there is more to our experience here on Earth than simply working Monday through Friday, 9-5pm, paying the bills, and moving through the motions of our days! We are here to Create... to Innovate... to Heal... to Play... to Delight... in the physical, human experience, here, on such an incredibly beautiful planet.  Awakening The Guides is a pathway for those Soul-humans who are ready to be Guides for Humanity... Leaders of this Awakening... Space holders for this Shift in Consciousness. Perhaps this brings up a few questions... * How do you know if you are meant to be a Guide? * If you are reading these words at this moment, then there is a resonance somewhere in your Soul that is connecting you to this possibility. * How do we become Guides? * We do our own healing first. We are like the mountain climber guide who first conquers his / her own fear of the mountain by climbing the mountain. Finding the path that leads to the top and then coming back down the other side, stronger and clearer than before. Who learns how to use the equipment and develops a confidence in the landscape, so that he / she can guide others successfully up the mountain and down the other side. Being a Guide at this time on our planet is an INTERNAL Awakening that then reflects EXTERNALLY in all of the relationships and communities within which you engage. As you become clearer, lighter, more connected to Source / God energy in you... that steady, empowered, centered Knowing inside can then guide those around you who are ready for their own Awakening. * How do I know this? * Because I am a living example of the impact that one person's awakening can have on all of those around me in my communities. The BONUS that happens in your own awakening, your own healing is that the deeper your Trust in your inner connection to God / Source becomes, the more you become aware of the unseen Spiritual Guides who surround you. We all have a team of unseen Wise Ones, a Council of Energy / Vibration that walk through every single day with us. Those moments of Divine alignment or pleasing surprises or sudden protection from accidents... it's our unseen team nudging and guiding us into the highest vibration possible for each of us in this lifetime. I trust you are well as we experience this magical New Moon in Aquarius with a Solar Eclipse... AND the beginning of the Chinese New Year / Lunar New Year!! What an astrological and energetic portal we are playing in this weekend! As I write this, I am preparing my home for the New Moon Circle tonight where we eat, chat, drink, and are merry, meeting new friends! And then we cocoon in as an intimate community for a guided meditation to set intentions for the cycles opening ahead of us. These gatherings bring me such joy as I hold space for all of us to expand the possibilities in our journeys! I am also preparing for a SO's Soul Weekend which is offering one of my client-friends a VIP weekend of my undivided attention! (giggling - some might say that's not always so great!) I can already feel the play and fun and healing and expansion that is unfolding for both of us over the next two days. What awaits on the other side is pure bliss! New Moons, for me, are a powerful time of creative energy moving through from my Soul into my Heart and out to be expressed with the world. The human part of me is always curious to see what new projects my Soul is going to reveal to me for the month ahead! On Tuesday night, an ice storm coated everything in our city with a thin layer of ice, shutting down schools and businesses and leaving many of snuggled up at home, looking out the window on Wednesday morning to a world of icicles! To my delight, the trees kept this layer of ice for two days, despite the sun shining down that I would have expected to melt the ice into water. I have tried to capture the beauty of what my eyes were seeing when the sun hit hundreds of trees, twigs, and icicles, making them sparkle and dance with light. And yet, the photographs cannot do the vision justice. Nature... Gaia... Earth revealed her magnificent beauty to us and descriptive words or digital images could not capture the fullness of her creation. I know in this physical-spiritual world within which we live, there are no coincidences, that everything is inter-connected and constantly providing messages and guidance for us in our journeys. So, I have spent time in meditation, wondering what wisdom this crystal vision is offering to me, to us, to humanity. The word I return to again and again is Awakening. Awakening:
For anyone who knows a little girl fascinated with princesses, you have perhaps watched with her the movie, Frozen. In my very brief summary (that could not possibly do justice for the power and impact this movie has had on little girls' imaginations!), the story line is about a princess with the power to turn things into ice who mistakenly puts her kingdom into an endless winter. It is not until the princess realizes that true Love can come from great sacrifice that the kingdom melts and returns to its original flourishing beauty.  I have always believed that children's stories are as much for adults as for the hearts and minds of children. The message of Frozen (and Moana, the Lion King, the Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty...!) is the message for all of us, for humanity, here at this time on our planet. Gaia, Earth is preparing us in her own way for an Awakening of Consciousness - "a sudden awareness" that brings new to light. In Cincinnati, we experienced it as ice for a couple days; in California, as flooding, fires, mudslides; in Taiwan, Mexico, Alaska, Iran-Iraq, as earthquakes; in Texas and Puerto Rico, as hurricanes; in Bali, Indonesia, and the Philippines, as volcanoes erupting; in India, as monsoons and flooding. And I am simply touching the tip of a long list. One of the reasons that I believe Disney movies resonate so powerfully with children of all ages is that in many of the stories, the Awakening begins through a sudden shock, often portrayed as death... and is transmuted through Love, often represented as a kiss (Sleeping Beauty, the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen)... and then the kingdoms are restored to their original paradise and the people celebrate and live happily ever after! What makes Awakening such a magical, mystical experience is that until you go through the transmutation, you are unaware, or have given up hope, that returning to the original paradise is even a possibility. When we are asleep, we do not realize we are asleep. We are simply in that state of sleep, of being unaware... until we experience the Awakening. We do not remember that paradise is real. The magical ingredient, the stars and fireworks and dazzling lights, happen in that moment of ultimate trust in Love. In Love being greater than fear, greater than death, greater than limitation. So, why am I writing about Awakening at this moment, in this week?  Because we are at the point in the story where the alchemy begins! The stars are dancing, the ground is rumbling, and Love is cracking open the hearts that are ready. This is the time where the story becomes FUN!! Where the frogs turn into princes, the witches turn into queens, and kingdoms that are dying begin transforming into paradise. We are Awakening! And if you stay asleep, you will miss the best part of the story! You will miss the magic, the delight, the joy that comes when life is renewed, restored, expanded... when the colors become bright and shiny... and things that are stagnant start to flow. Many have been Awakening slowly, slowly over the past few years and they are starting to see, to sense the possibilities of a new reality. Tiny flashes or moments where the world just looks different, relationships feel lighter, the future looks that tiny bit shinier. And many others are still hibernating in their beds, covers pulled tightly over their heads, eyes shut tight, not wanting to see or trust that magic is happening around them - right there in the bedroom! And magically floating throughout the house! I get it. Change is scary. And actually BELIEVING that the Change could be for the better... could be for the BEST... is almost too impossible to believe. That is the magical element in every Disney movie and the mantra allowing Disney to make its fortune over the past 100 years - a clear vision of a place "Where Dreams Do Come True!" This is why the movies, the stories, the characters resonate so deeply with children and with all adults who have their little child still alive within them. We desperately want to believe that Dreams Do Come True. That paradise does exist. That heaven can be experienced here on Earth. And yet we are terrified to allow that reality to come into being. So, I get it. AND... I also KNOW what is arriving, what is being co-created in every moment here on this planet, within humanity. Fear is moving out and Love is expanding. And the more of us who take that leap of trust and Awaken... the faster we move into this paradise that I already see and hold, with and for ALL of us.  So, how do you Awaken if you are asleep? By becoming Aware. By realizing that we have been asleep and not judging it. And also, exploring what it might feel like to be awake. Become aware of the life that you are currently living. Does it make you happy? Does it fulfill you? Are your relationships expanding Love or keeping you contracted and in fear or judgment? When we are awake, we see more clearly. Sometimes we don't like what we see and we close our eyes and go back to sleep! This expansion of Consciousness is going to be WAY MORE FUN to go through wide awake than asleep with the covers over your head! You'll miss the party! So look around at the life you are living and then explore ways that you can bring more of your Dreams into your Life:
How do you start bringing your Dreams into your Reality? Instead of waiting for wishes to come true, how do you create the future you've always wanted? Take a few steps NOW to begin that journey.  You are a reflection of the people you surround yourself with and the conversations you have. Are there changes that you would like to make to raise the vibration within your sphere of influence? If so, BEGIN! Start meeting with people who delight and thrill and challenge you to be awake! Connect with people who inspire you. Journal about the relationships you are calling in. Start making your Dreams Come True. Our physical body is the vessel through which our Soul expresses itself. Is your body a dream come true?! If not, what steps can you take to begin reshaping, re-energizing, refueling your own physical vessel. Allowing the Soul who sits inside to better guide you through this shift in Consciousness. You can look for guidance in your Awakening through the ways in which you move through your morning routine: 
So trust the ways in which these words activate and guide you.  And if you have doubts, simply tune in and feel the vibration of Truth in my words. The joy, the Love, the solid Knowing that I hold for this new reality, this new Consciousness that is being co-created. We are entering a time of chaos AND celebration on our planet. I started writing this letter to you on Friday, when the sun was pouring into my office and beautiful orbs of light from the sun-catcher were dancing around the room. A perfect time to write! Typically, each week, my words flow through easily and the delivery is simple and feels wonderful. Yesterday, however, I found myself struggling to clarify my thoughts and pushing to meet this self-imposed deadline I had for sending the letter out on Friday. The resistance I was experiencing yesterday started on Wednesday morning, the day of our Super Blue Blood (Full) Moon. The last few days have been irritating and uncomfortable for me, with many of my stories and blocks being reflected back to me by those I love and trust.  This is an intense time of more Light and healing energy streaming into our planet and I see it... I feel it... I know it to be True. It can be confusing to know this, though, or to hear it from other people, and simultaneously be feeling the frustration and irritation (with everything!) that seems in contrast to more light and healing energy. Isn't more light and healing supposed to make us feel good? Make us happy?! Light brings illumination, as we know through the example of Full Moons, flashlights, and spotlights. AND... illumination brings our gunk out of its places where we can normally hide it. Perhaps this has been your story this week, too. I find in my own journey and in the healing work I do with my clients that illumination, while uncomfortable, ultimately brings us deeper and deeper into our own clarity and knowing. Knowing:
The definitions above identify the ways in which we know: we can learn, study, and gather information to inform our Mind-Body-Spirit; we can intuitively sense Consciousness, awareness, which adds to our knowing; and we can learn how to access the "secret" or Universal knowledge that is actually available to ALL Souls in human bodies. It feels like an example here would be helpful! If you are a Harry Potter fan like I am, you are familiar with the way in which Hermione gathers her knowing. She studies, she reads, she prepares for all of her classes, and then the answers are readily accessible for her. One of my favorite aspects of her character was the enthusiastic way in which Hermione wanted to share all that she was learning and how she didn't really care that everyone around her didn't know the answer! Her trust in her knowing was beautiful to watch. In contrast, the main character, Harry, showed how intuition - the Soul - can provide an immediate knowing. His trust in the ways that energy and visions moved through his awareness guided him in his journey to becoming such a powerful wizard. And then there is the Universal knowledge of energy, of collective Consciousness, of past-future-present which the professors taught... but each wizard had to learn how to access and integrate on his/her own. The combination of all three was the Mastery of Magic illustrated in the series!  As Souls in human bodies, we are all here to develop a trust in our own knowing. It is in our own knowing that we identify what makes us unique, what our purpose is for being alive on this planet, and then how to bring our gifts forward into humanity and our world. We gather and clarify our own knowing throughout our lifetime. There are periods where we are so certain and solid in our knowing and can shout our Truth from the rooftops! And then there are those times when we have no idea why we are here! We doubt and question... and our gunk comes up yet again to be explored. That was my journey this week. I had amazing clarity and felt pure Love pouring through me on Tuesday's SO's Soul Stories, in absolute alignment and trust of my own knowing. And then for Wednesday's Full Moon, everything felt foggy and unclear and I was irritated at all that was happening around me. Mostly at myself for creating such extreme contrasts! In the past, I would judge this contrast as being "wrong" or moving "backwards" on my path of evolution. What I have found in the last few years is that sitting still in that uncomfortable space... questioning and feeling... journaling... trusting that there is always clarity on the other side... I always eventually deepen into my own knowing. I used to seek validation externally, wanting the approval of those around me, and taking all advice offered. Over time, I have learned to take the advice, turn inward, and then trust the certainty of my own knowing, which comes through in meditation time.  Deepak's mantra of "All that I seek is within..." is true. In a recent meditation, he offered this guidance: "Going within and connecting with our Higher Selves reaffirms that validation comes from the inside. The home of pure Love and acceptance. Soul Referral is using our Soul as the reference point, instead of seeking approval elsewhere. ...The desires of your heart are identified through meditation... and they guide you to the highest expression of yourself. That expression is pure and unlimited Love.Both for yourself and for others." Trusting that clarity is always unfolding guides us towards that clarity. And trusting that our Soul is here for its highest expression in the physical form guides us towards that highest expression. So in this time of more light pouring into our planet and showing us the contrasts, I offer a beautiful word that always guides me: Trust. Trust. One of my favorite parts of the monthly O Magazine is the last page, where Oprah shares her "What I know for sure" reflections. Today I am adding a few of my own knowings! "I know for sure" that:
I could continue... and yet, this is what most serves for now!  As you read my words, I invite you to explore what they bring up in you. Perhaps you have knowings of your own that have been shifting, moving, and clarifying also this week. Take a few moments to write them down. Pause, close your eyes, and go inward. Trust what flows through. There is an individual strengthening that happens when we tap into the collective field of energy, of Consciousness... when we allow Source energy to move in and through trusted containers. If you have not yet experienced a Sunday meditation hour with me and the Source energy that flows through me, you are missing a beautiful opportunity to expand Love. This is when I feel the most powerful connection to Gaia, to our planet, and to all that She is healing with humanity. The ways in which energy moves, the tools that She guides me to share, the pure Love and Consciousness that Source flows through to support this space... there are not words to explain the vibration fully. And so I simply invite you experience it for yourself. Your presence provides the activation you are seeking. You can claim this hour for yourself here.
