This song has been speaking to me over the past two weeks and it feels important to share the lyrics with this group at this time. It takes courage to love yourself so much that you can see ALL of who you are... and then to claim that as a Roar! in this lifetime. And you wouldn't have been pulled at this time, towards this group, this work, and me - unless you were ready to hear this message and answer your own call.

I believe for many of us that our greatest fear is that we are going to end up alone. Somehow, someway, we felt that we were abandoned early on in our lives (by God, our parents, our siblings, our friends...) and we have spent the time since then doing everything to avoid looking at or feeling and releasing that fear. I'm calling bullshit on that story! It's just fear, holding you back, keeping you small, and limiting you. Loving ourselves first dissolves that fear because in that space, we find that we ARE Love. We are never alone.

The lyrics from In the Sun by Donna DeLory explores the question:

I am standing here, feet firmly planted, saying that Love Wins.

That if you choose yourself, if you take the time to look inward and start unraveling the old stories and patterns that you feel holding you back... you will find yourself. And there, you will find a deeper Love. The kind of Love that you've always known is possible but have not perhaps felt in a very long time. Yes. Emphatically - YES.

I am walking the same path with you, but can see just a little ahead to say that it's 100% true.

(Yay - insert happy, dancing, smiley emojis here!!! Just for fun validation, I included in a photo of the license plate my son and I saw on Tuesday morning!)

So what do you do? Start by listening to the songs above and see what resonates. Sit still and tune in for a few minutes. Stop the busy pace that keeps you a little distanced from yourself and see if there is an internal nod - "yup, she's speaking some truth here." And then take inspired action.

I hope you are well! I arrive today with a gift of music... my favorite kind of gift!

First, a quick back story. I have always been one to control as much of my life as possible, music included. As I have relaxed my grip more and more over the past few years, life has started to surprise and delight me in a million magical ways.

My shuffle on my iphone has been one of the BEST of the surprises! I believe it's the way that my Soul plays with me, offering words of wisdom through song. Each morning, I step out for my half hour run and surrender to the music that flows. Sometimes it drives me crazy because it's too slow... and so my pace is forced to slow down. Often it makes me giggle out loud as I'm running because the lyrics could NOT be more perfect, irreverent, truthful, healing, and loving.

So today, it feels like fun to share this morning's playlist with you.

Everything is energy and therefore a vibrational match, which means what is present for me likely has a match in you, too. This week has been an up and down one of feeling so many emotions like "Stubborn Love," then releasing some attachments ("One Day" and "Say Something") as the full moon brought illumination. Today I feel "On top of the World" and ready to overflow like a "Volcano" as I spend time completing the next offering from my heart - Soul Filters, which is about the "Speed of Sound." "Hickory" brought it all together as I arrived back home with its instrumental ending... so beautiful.

I write to you today from the East Coast, sitting at the kitchen table of our rental home by the beach, feeling filled up with sunshine, ocean spray, and love (a.k.a. - play time with my family!). Vacations offer such sweet time to pause and reflect on how we're living our lives and what our priorities are here and back home. It has been a good week!

We have spent some of our downtime this week watching the Olympics, as I'm guessing many of you have also. It is incredible to witness the dedication and commitment that these athletes from around the world have made to following their dreams. They have pushed themselves beyond average limits to exceed extraordinary goals.

I'm always so curious - what does it take internally to reach that level?

This ad (video above) about Michael Phelps perhaps illustrates it best:

"Rule Yourself." So simple. SO powerful.

I am certainly not at the level of commitment and extreme focus in any area of my life that I see in these athletes physically. Yet! But I do believe we all have the capacity to "Rule" ourselves and bring our gifts to the world in our own unique ways.

Perhaps it's this practice of visualizing it first that can open the path for us. Seeing it, feeling it, and slowly believing it. Allowing space for it to take form and surprise us with its beauty.

Today I am celebrating a HUGE shift for one of my client / friends... witnessing her stepping into the steady powerful center of her own Truth! It's hard to describe what it feels like when you know someone has made a conscious, clear choice to create their own new reality, giving up the role of being victim or powerless. My heart dances, the stars celebrate, planets shift... I don't know what words can describe how amazing and tangible the ripples out into the world feel to me. So, today, deepest of bows to her and to all of you stepping forward into a new moment, a new life, a new NOW. So much joy!!

The message from Mystic Mamma for the month of August being about Collaboration only confirms this shift taking place in each of us and dancing through humanity:

“This is a big month for relationships. Collaboration is all about building stronger and more trusting relationships with the different parts of yourself as well as with others.

“There is no room for competition, standing out as the ‘king of the mountain’, or needing to be singled out as the one at the top. Collaboration is about building a team where everyone does their part. You will be the master of whatever role you play in the collaboration.

“If we can get this lesson of learning to work together in harmony and cooperation, the future will unfold for us as a collective in a very beautiful way.

“However, if we continue to act independently out of the old pattern of separation, competition, comparison and judgment, we will only extend and prolong the period of suffering, loneliness and despair.

“We cannot do it alone. And in order for there to be true collaboration, we have to get over ourselves, our self-centered self -doubt, self-deprecation and low self-esteem. It is time to acknowledge and honor the magnificence that we all are as human beings and stop wallowing in our own delicious self-pity.

“We all have a role to play in the greater collaboration of evolving the planet to the best future possible. We are all powerful individually but in collaborative relationship, we can be super heroes.

“Start with the relationships around you. How can you be in better collaboration with your family, your significant other, your children, your closest loved ones? 

“Then move to your current work, staff, coworkers, clients, community members, friends, partners in business or pleasure and improve your collaboration wherever possible.

“If your efforts are meeting unsurmountable resistance, it may be time to look elsewhere for new opportunities.”

As I type this, I am listening to 'Til Kingdom Come by Coldplay - such beautiful wisdom about collaboration. "For you I've waited all these years. For you, I'd wait until Kingdom Come, until my day is done, Say you'll come and set me free, Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me."
