This morning, I share a nugget of powerful wisdom from Richard Rudd, the author of my favorite book ever - The Gene Keys.

"The Lost Art of Doing Nothing

When your life force is aligned correctly, you will discover that there is a vast amount of energy available to you... exhaustion becomes a thing of the past.

The 40th Gift of Resolve is about becoming adept at giving to yourself. Ultimately it is about deep physical relaxation. It is that wonderful balance between serving the world and serving your own enjoyment. True resolve is not possible until you know how to relax. Many people in the hectic modern world mistake the word rest with the word relaxation. We all need rest, yet perhaps even more, we need relaxation. Rest allows the physical body to recharge, but relaxation allows all of our subtle bodies to recharge as well. When we relax fully, our emotional and mental health is assured as well as our physical health.... Life was never designed to be as hard as we humans sometimes make it. ...The 40th Gift then is a Gift that knows how to save energy at all levels. It knows the great mystical importance of wu wei, the timeless art of doing nothing.

For a person with the Gift of Resolve, nothing is really an effort because nothing has to be forced. These people may work extremely hard and use a great deal of energy, but they do not exhaust themselves. They know when to stop, and more importantly they know when to say no. Work that is in harmony with your true nature is not really work at all. In this sense, it doesn't require willpower. Resolve means that willpower is built into the activity from the outset, so it flows effortlessly out of you rather than having to be forced.

Resolve is more than just willpower or determination: it is the flowering of your Aloneness. This 40th Gift thrives on solitude. The source of all your power lies in your love of being alone. This does not mean to say that you always have to be alone. it means that you do not suffer from loneliness because your life force is constantly in the process of giving birth. This inner abundance gives terrific strength to your aura and is likely to make you much sought after by others. This 40th Gift ensures that you also always have enough time, space and enjoyment for yourself."

Such a beautiful invitation to explore aligning with our life force. I find that meditation is my definition of "Aloneness." It's a space that allows me to pause and truly relax, finding and enjoying my own energy in a quiet cocoon.

Wishing each of you a beautiful Friday morning as I send out this love note to you! 

As I have mentioned many times, I am a big fan of the quirky and wise Kaypacha, astrologer extraordinaire. His Pele Report this week was SO spot on that I am inspired to share it here with you. He opened the 25 minute video with a tour of the most stunning caves I have ever seen, off an island near Greece. If you don't have time for more, at least take a quick minute for the opening tour - WOW! 

What I loved in this week's wisdom is the way he tied so many patterns together, starting with the impact of the planets' movements last August (a HUGE time of change for so many people) and then following the ripples through last November and into this year. Sometimes we forget to take a step back and look at the bigger picture of our journeys, and his report offered that perspective shift for me. Great news is that we're finally finding some relief, for those who have felt the intensity of changes and emotions riding high in 2016!

Kaypacha always inspires me to be better, to live more boldly, to step more fully into my own gifts ... and so I bring you his inspiration today. May we all keep creating and sharing our gifts.

​What a week! I'm not sure about how yours has gone, but it has been an expansive one here! My children left on Monday morning for a two week adventure to Europe with their Dad, which has left the house quieter than usual. And also allowed a unique space for me to create and be in the stillness of possibilities.

This morning I was thinking about what I would like to share with you and a song arrived right in my shuffle as I walked outside. It is Hopeless Opus by Imagine Dragons. Songs always speak to my Soul and this one inspires me each time I hear it. The description I found about the title offers this:

"Magnum Opus is Latin and translates to “great work” or could mean an artist’s greatest work or achievement. It could mean from the title that his work hasn’t reached its full potential yet, and there is still much better to come."

How beautiful is that statement?! Yes, of course there is still much better to come... from him and from all of us. We are all works in progress, striving for our fullest potential.

The lyrics state it beautifully:

So many of my conversations with clients and friends this week have been about timing and purpose in our lives. When will I know what I am here to do in this life? When will the big AHA present itself? Why is it taking so long or looking so messy?!

My answer is always - trust the wisdom of your own quiet space. And then to use the Imagine Dragons' lyrics  - Write your own line. Even if it's not what you thought it would be or the timing feels SO SLOW... you get to choose what comes next by claiming it. One action step at a time. Just one. And then the next. Trusting that there is still much better to come.

​It is Thursday evening and I am sitting in my living room, feeling filled up with family time spent laughing and exploring future possibilities. My sister and I took our high school seniors on a college visit today, opening a new portal with our children. (YIKES! and YAY!) It is an exciting and also slightly overwhelming time, as we talk about what careers might interest them, where they want to travel, what their gifts are to share in this world, ... such potential.

Do you remember being 17 and sitting in this unknown space of terror and delight?!

Or perhaps you are still sitting in the dilemma of what to do with your life. It took me until 45 to finally claim that this coaching thing I do is the most satisfying, expansive work possible for my Soul yet. And many of my clients are still exploring their paths, changing directions, opening up to new possibilities, saying yes to things that simultaneously terrify and delight them!

What I know to be true is that the answers are always inside. Your Soul already knows the highest potential for your life. Along with the thousands or millions of other optional paths that you can explore along the way.

And so perhaps the journey itself is the point. 

Like today. My daughter and I drove up in our Jeep to visit the college and the conversations on the two hour trip were beautiful. She opened up about her emotions, her fears, her hopes. And then on the way home, we just jammed! She played her music LOUDLY with the top off as we cruised down the highway - absolute bliss for this Mama! Such a wise Soul, this teacher-daughter of mine. Just being with her and sharing in her journey is a gift.

As we got closer to home, I shared one of my favorite songs with her - Question by Moody Blues. Here are a few of the lyrics:

     Why do we never get an answer when we're knocking at the door?
     Because the truth is hard to swallow, That's what the war of love is for.

     It's not the way that you say it when you do those things to me.
     It's more the way that you mean it when you tell me what will be.

If you haven't heard this song before, gift yourself with a quiet space to close your eyes and allow its wisdom to soothe your Soul. Forty years later, it is still guiding this Mama and daughter as we stand at the crossroads together.

Happy Independence Day weekend for all of those in the US... and the rest of our friends around the world! I was curious about some of the historical facts about the Fourth of July as I sat down to write this email and so I turned to everyone's expert Source - Google. :)

For those who also didn't pay attention well in history class, July 4th is the day that the original Congress approved but did not sign the Declaration of Independence, the document that claimed that the 13 United Colonies were Free and Independent States from Great Britain. This following line stood out to me on the Constitution Facts website:  "The significant aspect of the Declaration of the Independence is that it changed the American 'rebellion' against Great Britain into a 'revolution.'" 

This word 'revolution' came up over the past weekend when I was away with friends. I was sharing my belief that our world is evolving into more and more Love and a friend questioned why then so many hate-filled people are stepping up into power and why anger and hatred fills the news / social media.

Why? 

Revolution. 

Yes, in order for Love to spread, humanity has to get so uncomfortable with hate that they will reject it and turn instead to Love. 

It is exactly what happened with our original settlers in this country. They had to get so uncomfortable with power OVER that they would step up and claim power WITH, power FOR, power AMONG. And from that Revolution, a new country was created, based on freedom and equality.

Individuals, uniting together to create something new. Each one having his or her own understanding of Life, but sharing it in community. 

So here we sit at another July 4th weekend, exploring the same topics. Life is amazing, isn't it?! We are continually offered the opportunity to create and recreate what we want to experience in our journeys.

Today I challenge you to go IN and explore this for yourself.

• Where are you giving up your power or your love?
• How can you be a co-creator for more Love in your life, your community, your world?
• Where are you being pulled by your Soul and how do you align with that internal revolution?

We will be gathering in the Soul Shine community on Sunday to explore these topics in community. I would love for you to join us and bring your energy to the Soul conversation. 

I commit to showing up and providing a clear channel for Source / God / Creator to guide us through the meditation into greater clarity and Love.
